Mark Schafer is a visual artist whose preferred medium is paper, whose preferred genres are imaginary landscapes and subjective narratives, and whose preferred source materials are commercially printed maps. He has exhibited his artwork from Boston to Valdosta, Georgia to San Diego and has mounted art installations in Somerville, MA and Banff, British Columbia, Canada. In 2000, he was awarded Second Place in the Valdosta Works on Paper XII National Juried Exhibition. His collages and commissioned Shortcut Maps are held in various private collections around the country. He currently resides with his wife in Roxbury, MA.
